Tail light lenses w/o back up lights
I was told that these lenses were standard on only the base model Fairlanes produced early in the '66 model year. Back-up lights were standard equipment on all other Fairlane 500 and GT models. Apparently after a couple months of production, back-up lights were made standard on all models and owners of the early units were offered a no-charge upgrade to back-up lights. When these lenses show up as N.O.S., they seldom are in their original packages. Most likely these are new take-offs which the dealers placed back on their shelves after the conversions. If you have information to back this up or something contrary to it, I would enjoy hearing from you. |

*Shown in this picture is a 7 qt T pan from Coast High Performance. This pan does NOT fit. It would require notching the crossmember. |
*Dash pad was restored by Just Dashes. *Link Upholstery recovered the seat using N.O.S. fabric that I was able to locate. *Horn button is N.O.S. and uniqiue to early production base models. *Tach is 60's vintage Sun converted to solid state electronics and Stewart-Warner oil pressure and temperature gauges. *Instrument cluster bezel restored by CV Platers.

DONE!
7/12/03 First trip to the drag strip. It ran 12.50 @ 109 mph. Severe wheel spin with BFG Drag Radials hurt 60 ft times. 8/10/03 Second time out I adjusted Cal Trac bars and launched with no wheel spin and went 12.20 @ 110 mph and put daylight under the front tires! It has since gone 12.07 @ 111 mph on M/T drag slicks. |
